It represents our world half-covered by a protecting strip.  This protection represents social and environmental care and is a half-protection because it allows for economic development to still transpire, generating complementation, synergism and balance.

The strip moves from left to right , that is from past to future, acknowledging the importance of both history and the future in our present acts, and also moves upwards representing the need for constant growth and improvement.
